An itinerary designed for families (adult average age 37) who want an action-filled holiday where they can enjoy activities together. During their stay, they can go scuba diving/snorkeling, try other water sports and visit theme parks. They can explore the country together actively, as well as have some quiet, relaxing time at the beach to rest, relax and reconnect.

Day 1

Experience the essence of Doha

1. Museum of Islamic Art and the MIA Park

Commence the tour at the stunning Museum of Islamic Art, an architectural wonder, encompassing 14 centuries of Islamic art and artefacts. Wander through the iconic museum that comprises of four floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions, a gift shop, a café and the haute cuisine restaurant IDAM by renowned chef Alain Ducasse, on the fifth floor. It is also home to a heritage library, with 21,000 books, including 2000 rare editions in Arabic and English.

2. National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ)

Wander through the desert-rose inspired National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), enjoy the indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits that bring the country’s past to life and explore the famous eateries around. Built around Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani’s original palace, the National Museum of Qatar reveals all you need to know about Qatar’s ancestors and the formation of its early cities, with the museum charting the country’s history and progress through the centuries.

3. Souq Waqif

In the afternoon, stroll around the lively Souq Waqif for a taste of Qatar's traditional markets. Built on the site of an ancient market, Souq Waqif is where travellers can hold a falcon in their hand or feel like Midas in the shimmering alleys of the gold souq. The alleys of Souq Waqif are vibrant with living history and keepsakes. Katara Cultural Village, home to galleries, theatres and concert halls, is a guardian to Qatar's heritage and traditions and a place to experience festivals, performances and exhibitions.

4. Try local cuisine at the restaurants at the souq

For lunch, try the local cuisine in one of the various souq eateries with indoor/outdoor dining options; Shay al Shamoos and Al Jasra Traditional Food are two compelling restaurants at the Souq Waqif known to serve the best local dishes.

5. Evening walk along the Corniche and dhow boat cruise dinner

End the day aboard a traditional wooden dhow boat, where, along with the serene corniche views, you will be treated with a dinner buffet to satisfy your cravings after a long day of sightseeing. Enjoy a walk through the sites and scenes of the corniche before you head back to your hotel for the night.

1. Full-day trip to the Inland Sea/Khor Al Udaid

Start your day with a visit to the impressive 'Inland Sea' or Khor Al Adaid, a UNESCO Heritage Site and one of the few places in the world where the sea encroaches into the desert. For a truly authentic desert experience, nothing beats a camel ride over the soft dunes before embarking on an exhilarating desert safari over the dunes to Khor Al Adaid, accessible only by 4x4 vehicles. 1. Whale shark excursion (seasonal)

Go on an excursion to see whale sharks in Qatar. Each year, hundreds of whale sharks congregate in the Al Shaheen region off the northeast coast of Qatar. Where nature meets the world of art

1. Half- or full-day tour of Zekreet area

Explore the highlights of the Zekreet area: a village in north-western Qatar near Dukhan and about 80 km northwest of Doha. It is home to Richard Serra's East-West/West-East installation. Put together by four steel plates, each of which is over 14m in height, the installation spans over 1km. It stands in stark contrast to the soft brown hues of the desert surrounding it and offers a comment on isolation and the passage of time. Other highlights of your trip include touring the Film City and the Arabian oryx sanctuary, the breeding farm of Qatar's national animal.
