To inaugurate its biggest ‘Summer in Qatar’ program, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has announced a host of travel and hospitality deals, along with exciting family entertainment shows and new attractions that will open to the public on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

To inaugurate its biggest ‘Summer in Qatar’ program, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has announced a host of travel and hospitality deals, along with exciting family entertainment shows and new attractions that will open to the public on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

Travel:

until  15 August 2019, Qatar Airways is offering a discount of 25% on all flights to Doha from more than 160 destinations worldwide, for travel anytime between 30 May – 16 August. Al Maha Services, Qatar Airways’ personalized meet and assist service, is also offering discounts of up to 25% on all their services during the summer.

Those traveling on Qatar Airways’ long-haul flights can take advantage of Qatar+. In partnership with QNTC, this stopover package gives travelers transiting through Qatar free luxury hotel stays and complimentary transit visas.

Hospitality offers

A wide range of hospitality options are available, with unbeatable discounts valid for stays between 4 June – 16 August 2019 along with several additional incentives and promotions at facilities. Katara Hospitality are offering 40% discount on all their properties, exclusively available to residents of Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. Al Rayyan Project Management and Marriott International are offering a 25% discount for stays during this period.

Other hotels are also participating in the rich offering of Summer in Qatar by offering up to 25% off. These hotels are Fraser Suites West Bay, The Curve Hotel, Wyndham Grand, Regency Doha, La cigale Hotel, Oryx Rotana, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Torch, Al Aziziyah Boutique Hotel and Amari Doha.

 

In addition to discounted room rates, hotel guests can avail of numerous offers on hotel facilities including restaurants, spas, gyms or even late check-out and free meals for children.

Katara, Souq Waqif & Souq Al Wakrah Festivals

Adding to the season’s festivities will be the vibrant Eid celebrations at Katara Cultural Village, Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah. These will include cultural performances, musical acts and family shows with a special firework display at Katara Cultural Village.

Live Entertainment Shows

From the first to the fifth day of Eid Al Fitr, all participating malls will put on free entertainment shows for shoppers and families looking for indoor activities. There will be special Meet & Greet sessions with the likes of Captain Marvel and Hulk at these malls. Lagoona Mall will have a special show ‘Aladdin’, at 5:00 pm. Woody and Buzz Lightyear fans can enjoy Toy Story 4, premiering this Eid. The Qatar National Convention Centre will host ‘Hello Kitty’ from 25 to 27 July, ‘The Smurfs’ from 8 to 10 Aug and the ‘The Blue Man’ from 14 to 17 August.

Entertainment City

The family favourite returns on the first day of Eid Al Fitr, and will continue till 13 July. Located in Doha Exhibition & Convention Center, it offers fun for all ages including bouncy castles, a mini-golf course, exciting rides, skill games, video games, as well as live entertainment shows, food, beverage and retail options and will be open daily from 12:30pm to 10:00pm and 1:30-11:00 pm on Fridays. An individual entry ticket costs QAR 15 with day passes and season passes range from QAR 150 – QR 1,250, while individual game prices range from 10 QAR to 35 QAR.

Outdoor Activities

Sunrise desert Safari & Sightseeing tours are designed to give nature lovers an adventurous experience at Qatar’s golden dunes and desert camps along with a spectacular view of the inland sea. Doha Bus is also available to take visitors/guests through a ride across the city.

Indoor Theme Parks

Among the newest summer attractions this year are three unique indoor theme parks. The first ever in Angry Birds World theme park launches its new outdoor area. SNOW DUNES™ – A large indoor snow park with a cutting-edge snow-making system, is also expected to open this summer. VIRTUOCiTY™ - a gaming and eSports venue spanning over 4,500 sqm will also host a FIFA E-Sports Cup in partnership with PSG.

Shop & Win

The 9 malls participating in this year’s summer fun include: Doha Festival City, Mall of Qatar, Lagoona Mall, Landmark Mall, Gulf Mall, Tawar Mall, Al Khor Mall, Hyatt Plaza, and Al Mirqab Mall.

Starting 4 June, retailers at these malls will be offering up to 70% discounts and special promotions. For every QAR 200 spent at any of the participating outlets in these malls, shoppers can be part of the three raffle draws being held throughout the summer.  Prizes include cash and cars worth up to QAR 2 Million, with a grand prize of McLaren Spider 570s
