Qatar Tourism, in partnership with Spacetoon, is gearing up to host the ‘Qatar Toy Festival’ – a national first that is also set to be the largest event of its kind in the region.
Held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from July 13 – August 5, and themed ‘Live the Tales and Enjoy the Games,’ the festival will see more than 25 of the world’s biggest toy brands including Barbie, Blippi, Bluey, Cocomelon, Disney, HapeeCapee, Marvel, Fortnite and Transformers brought to life as part of Qatar Tourism’s lively and varied ‘Feel Summer in Qatar’ campaign.
Over the 25-day event, kids and families will have the chance to meet some of their favourite characters, participate in interactive-themed areas such as a Barbie Dreamhouse and a life-sized Monopoly board, as well as purchase some of the latest toys from world-leading brands.
Commenting on the festival, Sheikha Hessa Al-Thani, Head of Marketing and Planning at Qatar Tourism said: “We are delighted to partner with one of the region’s most popular channels to bring a world of indoor fun to families this summer in Qatar. Qatar Tourism’s ‘Feel Summer in Qatar’ campaign is designed to bring never-before experienced events to the country and allow families to enjoy a memorable summer in Qatar. Since the launch our ‘Feel More in Qatar’ campaign late last year, our seasonal iterations have been hugely successful in creating an exciting and diverse calendar of events throughout the year and on every occasion.”
The Qatar Toy Festival will have four different areas, called islands, which will cater to various interests and ages. These are:
- Fancy Land – with Disney Princess, My Little Pony, Barbie and Hayati Girl, and a Fancy Land café, suitable for kids aged 4 - 12;
- Champions Land – with Nerf, Marvel, Transformers, Beybattle Burst, Free Fire, Hot Wheels, and Fortnite, suitable for ages 5 - 15;
- Cutie Pie – with Blippi, Cocomelon, The Smurfs, and Bluey, suitable for ages 2 - 6; and
- Hyper Land – with Scrabble, Race, Monopoly, Angry Birds and Sonic the Hedgehog, suitable for kids aged 5 - 15.
Many more brands will be brought to life through the meet and greet characters that will be present throughout the festival.
The event will also feature over 15 live shows on stage by Louna Land, Strawberry Shortcake, The Smurfs, Barney, Miraculous, Bluey, My Little Pony, and many others. There will also be a special concert by Spacetoon’s golden voice, Rasha Rizk, and performances by an assembly of celebrities and content creators from the Arab region.
As part of its Feel Summer in Qatar campaign, Qatar Tourism recently brought the smash-hit touring ‘Disney On Ice’ show for twelve magical performances at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall. Audiences witnessed some of the most iconic figures of the Disney franchise take to the ice rink in spectacular style.
Feel Summer in Qatar is a seasonal extension of QT’s ‘Feel More in Qatar’ brand platform, which seeks to solidify the country’s reputation as the Middle East’s top choice for families.
