Building on the learning experience of its ‘Qatar Host’ programme, Qatar Tourism is offering complimentary in-person Service Excellence training courses to frontline service professionals working in hotels and tourism companies. The training is designed to equip visitor-facing staff and leaders in the tourism sector with the skills required to deliver a truly memorable visitor experience.
To date, more than 510 service professionals have received the training, with plans to train more than 5000 customer-facing staff and managers in hotel establishments and tourism companies by November 2022. The sessions, which started on October 2, 2022, are taking place at Grand Hyatt Doha every day, excluding Fridays, and will run until November 3, 2022.
Moza Al Meadadi, a member of Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence team, said: “We’re delighted at the momentum and interest that our Service Excellence training programmes have gained since inception. By holding the in-person training sessions, we are able to actively engage with service professionals in Qatar to ensure they have the skills needed to deliver a truly memorable visitor experience.”
Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence Programme involves a multi-pronged approach to ensure a seamless customer journey. In collaboration with stakeholders, Qatar Tourism evaluates frontline professionals across sectors and offers training and certifications to ensure the highest standard of professional service for visitors.
In July 2022, Qatar Tourism launched its ‘Qatar Host’ tourism training programme. The first online tourism training programme in the country provides frontline professionals, such as hotel concierge staff, mall security and restaurant waiters, with the relevant skills and knowledge to deliver Service Excellence to international and domestic visitors.
