Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) is part of the delegation representing Qatar at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).  The 24th edition of SPIEF is taking place between 2-5 June. As one of the largest investment focused events of its kind, it affords a platform whereby Qatar can showcase the destination and investment opportunities therein.

As Guest Country for SPIEF 21, Qatar is hosting the Qatar National Pavilion at the venue with one of the largest business delegations due to attend. A cultural programme will complement the business agenda, offering visitors a taste of Qatar’s offerings, as well as its heritage and culture. With offices in Russia since 2018, QNTC is committed to further building ties with Russia.  With representation from 145 countries, the previous edition of SPIEF in 2019 saw the signing of agreements worth nearly $50bn US.

Through its participation at SPIEF, QNTC and other Qatari entities are demonstrating that Qatar’s economy is open for business. As Qatar looks to more diverse source markets for visitors and goods, its tourism sector continues to demonstrate growth, with new products and infrastructure under development. As part of its strategy to attract visitors from new source markets, and attract investment, QNTC will showcase three new tourism developments– Fuwairit, Ras Abrouq and bin Ghannam Island. These meet the needs of visitors looking for sun, sea and sand holidays, an important requirement for tourists from Russia.

Mr Berthold Trenkel, Chief Operation Officer at Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), said: "We are honoured to be part of the Qatar Pavilion, and are eager to share the destination and the rich business opportunities that exist in Qatar with SPIEF’s audiences. Stewarding efforts in the tourism sector, QNTC works with partners to develop offerings that showcase Qatar’s natural beauty and facilitates the development of the sector."

With high rankings for competitiveness, Qatar offers seamless services for businesses and investors. Its unparalleled safety and connectivity, award-winning hospitality and Service Excellence across consumer touchpoints, as well as heritage and cultural products, provide rounded experiences to visitors and businesses alike.
