S'hail – Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition

September 5 - 10

Held by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), the 6th edition of the International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S'hail 2022) showcases premium falcons, hunting and falconry equipment from all over the world. The exhibition helps preserve Qatar’s rich heritage in this pastime and promotes the importance of the national bird. It also seeks to boost mutually beneficial relationships between traders and falcon owners, both locally and internationally, while featuring a variety of products and services.

 

Philharmonic at the Library: Schubert's Octet

September 14, 18:00

Eight members of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Schubert’s Octet in F Major, inaugurating the ‘Philharmonic at the Library’ Series 2022-23. This beloved titan of the chamber music repertoire consists of six movements and effuses tender warmth of expression and lyrical beauty from first note to last.

 

Gopi Sundar Live Ensemble

September 15, 19:00

For all the music lovers in Doha, the Gopi Sundar live ensemble will take place at Al Arabi Sports Club on September 15 at 19:00. Popular across South Indian and Asian communities, the performance will feature talented artists including Gopi Sundar, Amritha Suresh, Mohammed Jasim and Swetha, along with their band members.

Peter and the Wolf

September 16, 18:00

Hamilton International School will host the musical composition, "Peter and the Wolf" by the great Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev. The story of “Peter and the Wolf” is told by a narrator, with the orchestra musically illustrating the events that unfold for the audience in this performance that is enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Taysir Batniji: No Condition is Permanent

September 16 – January 21, 2023

Presented within a global context of social uncertainty and fragility of historical narratives, the exhibition, "No Condition is Permanent," is conceived as a reflective space dedicated to the artist Taysir Batniji. Hosted in Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art - Doha, the exhibition features productions and reproductions of the artist's work created between 1997 and 2022. During this period, Taysir lived in France, but his life and work meditate on Palestine. The works on display look at Batniji’s diverse practice using photography, drawing, video, installation, and performance.

Sophia Al-Maria: INVISIBLE LABORS daydream therapy

September 16 – January 21, 2023

Hosted in Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Sophia Al-Maria: INVISIBLE LABORS daydream therapy brings together existing and new works for the Qatari American artist’s first solo museum exhibition in the Middle East. For the exhibition, Al-Maria invites various artists, curators, scholars, and communities for a dialogue around histories, science fiction, and the Gulf’s relation to the surrounding region. The exhibition consists of a variety of media including installations, video and commissioned soundscapes, all of which highlight the importance of storytelling as a strategy of survival, imagination and reclaiming stories.

Majaz: Contemporary Art Qatar

September 16, 2022 – February 25, 2023

Majaz Contemporary Art Qatar highlights the success of the Fire Station Artist in Residence programme and the flourishing art scene in Qatar. Hosted in Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, the exhibition celebrates the programme that has supported local and regional artists over the last five years.

Mucize 22 – Harisankar Live in Qatar

September 29, 19:00

‘Mucize 22, Harisankar Live in Qatar’ will take place at Al Arabi Sports Club indoor hall.  Audiences can look forward to a lively performance by the highly anticipated artist.

Dadu's light atelier

Ending September 11

Dadu, Children's Museum of Qatar, will host the "Light Atelier" exhibition at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition uses different installations, allowing children to take the lead and freely discover concepts about light and shadow, colour mixing, reflections and more.

Abeer Al-Tamimi: Beyond the Rules

Ending September 24

This solo exhibition at Fire Station explores the nature of human interactions, behaviours and emotions. The artist, Abeer Al-Tamimi, takes a closer look at how culture shapes individual perception in a series of artworks which feature oil on canvas.  

Artists Gathering

Ending December 31

Taking place every Saturday to year-end at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, this free event seeks to build closer community ties with artists. The gathering will allow people to meet artists in the community and get to know their works, discuss important world topics, watch artists create paintings live, and find out the latest happenings in the local arts scene.

QNB Stars League

Ending September 14

Having started in August, the QNB Stars League will continue to witness the participation of 12 clubs competing for the championship, with matches running across some of Qatar’s most prominent stadiums including Khalifa International Stadium, Education City Stadium and Lusail Stadium. The event stands out as the most significant tournament managed by Qatar Stars League (QSL). Tickets can be purchased at tickets.qsl.qa
