Visit Qatar will participate as Lead Partner in the inaugural edition of Art Basel Qatar, taking place from 5 to 7 February 2026 at M7 and Doha Design District in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
As Art Basel’s fifth global fair, the event will showcase leading galleries and artistic talent from Qatar, the wider MENASA region, and beyond in partnership with Qatar Sports Investments and QC+.
Through this partnership, Visit Qatar will deliver a hospitality-led presence designed to engage collectors, cultural stakeholders, media, and invited guests, reinforcing Qatar’s position within the global cultural landscape.
Central to this presence is the Art Basel Café Presented by Visit Qatar, developed under the theme Doorway to Qatar. Inspired by traditional Qatari doors, a symbol of welcome and opportunity, the café reinterprets these forms as contemporary gateways to discovering, belonging in, and investing in Qatar. The space functions as a dedicated guest environment within the fair, translating national identity into a modern, design-led setting.
Visit Qatar is collaborating with Qatari chef Salman Al Jaidah and internationally recognised chef Izu Ani to reflect the culinary dialogue between Qatar and the international community through a unified creative lens. Visit Qatar is also working with Qatari artists Bothayna Al Zaman, and Yousef Ahmad whose contributions support the creative and cultural expression of Visit Qatar’s presence at Art Basel Qatar.
As part of Visit Qatar’s activation, an integrated content screen will showcase curated destination storytelling, including the Only in Doha series, a short-form film collaboration with Art Basel that spotlights Qatari artists Maha Jassim Al Thani, Abdulrahman Al Muftah, and Yasmine Mansoor.
Visit Qatar’s participation supports the delivery of the world's premier Modern and contemporary art platform hosted in Doha, while providing direct engagement opportunities with leading voices and audiences within the arts ecosystem. The hosting of internationally recognised events forms part of Visit Qatar’s approach to diversifying the visitor offering and strengthening Qatar’s position as a year-round destination for culture, creativity, and premium experiences.
